Here’s everything you need to know about the changes made in Big Brother Season 22! So, what are you waiting for? Grab your tub of popcorn.
Season 22
Big Brother kicked-off its latest season with an all-star group of 16 houseguests. Some of the favorite past participants have returned to the iconic BB house for another shot at $500K. Of all the reality shows that are slowly returning to studio production, Big Brother seems to be the safest. This is because the show itself is a form of quarantine, wherein houseguests don’t interact with anyone but each other for up to three months, depending on how long they survive eviction.
Houseguests
Potential houseguests were flown to L.A. for a mandatory two-week quarantine before the premiere. During this period, they were regularly tested, after which they were cleared to appear on the show. Other houseguests who were flown in to be a part of the show were tested positive, so were naturally out of the game. Inside the house, all houseguests will be tested weekly and will have no contact with any crew members.
Crew members
All show crew members are being tested on a weekly basis. They will also be screened for symptoms every day prior to commencing work. To ensure social distancing, they will be working in color-coded pods and allowed to move in areas marked with their colors. While on the set, the crew is required to wear masks at all times. No camera operators will be inside the house with the houseguests. The cameras are all pre-installed or behind a glass screen.
The live show
The live show will have no studio audience. When evicted, contestants will maintain a safe distance with the host, which includes the rule of no handshakes or hugs.
Despite all these restrictions, there’s sure to be plenty of drama, blindsides, and laughter as the summer heats up!
