Concerns about Russia’s Coronavirus Vaccine
Russia’s Ministry of Health issued a registration certificate for the vaccine that was tested on merely 76 people. With this certificate, the developers of the vaccine are given the authorization to use the vaccine on selected groups of people, which include medical staff and seniors.

The reason why scientists all around the world have denounced the vaccine is that it is yet to complete trials that show it can be used effectively and safely on a large number of people. What’s surprising is that even experts within Russia have voiced concerns about the vaccine development!

Russia Brushes Off Concerns
Although the world has expressed doubt about the approval of the COVID-19 vaccine, Russia maintains that the vaccine was shown to be highly effective and safe, with no side effects that were serious enough to cause alarm.

Some members of the Ministry of Health also mentioned that the vaccine would offer up to 2 years of immunity against SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus that leads to COVID-19. It has been reported that all volunteers who participated in the study developed antibodies to COVID-19. It’s worth noting that the certificate that was issued by the Ministry of Health mentions that the COVID-19 vaccine should not be used widely till January 1, 2021.

It is rumored that the Phase III trials, which will involve over 2,000 people will commence on August 12, 2020, in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and Brazil. The vaccine is expected to be mass-produced, starting September.
